Sacrifice, it is a word usually used in relation to having to give up something in order to obtain something else. We often hear about athletes, celebrities, and billionaires, on how much they had to sacrifice to get to where they are now (Whether that involved their soul, is a topic for another discussion). Or how those in the line of duty paid the “ultimate” sacrifice to safe the lives of others. I say “ultimate” because it does not triumph the true ultimate sacrifice that took place many years ago. When Elohim came and died to reclaim the one He divorced, the house of Israel. I say Elohim came and died because of what Thomas said:
“And after eight days His taught ones were again inside, and T’oma (Thomas) with them. יהושע came, the doors having been shut, and He stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” Then He said to T’oma (Thomas), “Bring your finger here, and see My hands. And bring your hand and put it into My side – and do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And T’oma (Thomas) answered and said to Him, “My Master and my Elohim!” (John 20:26-28)
You may be a bit lost at this point due to what mainstream Christianity teaches, to better understand who you are I recommend reading my post, “Grafted In” and “Israel and Judah”. This is a continuation of those and will present you with the true reason why Yeshua sacrificed himself.
Our story begins with the house of Israel being divorce from YHWH, for their adulterous ways (following other gods).
“And יהוה said to me in the days of Yoshiyahu (Josiah) the sovereign, “Have you seen what backsliding Yisra’ĕl (Israel) has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there committed whoring. “And after she had done all these, I said ‘Return to Me.’ But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Yehuḏah (Judah) saw it. “And I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Yisra’ĕl (Israel) had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Yehuḏah (Judah) did not fear, but went and committed whoring too” (Jeremiah 3:6-8)
The house of Israel, also known as the stick of Joseph or Ephraim, went and played the harlot. Thus, she was divorced and scattered among the nations. This is very problematic for the house of Israel, because according to the Torah (YHWH instructions) they are not allowed to be remarried.
“When a man takes a wife and shall marry her, then it shall be, if she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found a matter of uncoveredness in her, and he shall write her a certificate of divorce, and put it in her hand, and send her out of his house, and if she left his house and went and became another man’s wife, and the latter husband shall hate her and write her a certificate of divorce, and put it in her hand, and send her out of his house, or when the latter husband dies who took her to be his wife, then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her back to be his wife after she has been defiled, for that would be an abomination before יהוה. And do not bring sin on the land which יהוה your Elohim is giving you as an inheritance.” (Deuteronomy 24:1-4)
The commandment states that if a marriage fails and the woman goes off and lies with another, while her first husband is still alive, then the two are forbidden to remarry. The wife is held under that law until her first husband dies. Now then, you may be thinking, “ok, but the church is the new bride for Christ.” You are, however, only partially correct. The Church is the bride of Yeshua, but is not new and did not replace Israel, for the Church and Israel are one in the same.
“This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear. This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spoke to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:” (Acts 7:38)
How is it possible then that the church (Israel) is called the bride (virgin), as stated in the parable of the 10 virgins and in this verse?
“For I am jealous for you with a jealousy according to Elohim. For I gave you in marriage to one husband, to present you as an innocent maiden to Messiah. ” (2 Corinthians 11:2)
Let us read Romans 7, this chapter is often used to show that the law or Torah was done away with. They neglect to read the entire chapter where Paul goes on to say he delights in YHWH’s Torah. If you don’t know the Torah then you don’t know what Paul is talking about, that’s why he says, “I’m talking to those who know the Torah.” What does the beginning of Romans 7 have to do with redeeming the bride or the adulterous wife? See for yourself, now that you know which commandment Paul is referring to (Deuteronomy 24:1-4).
“Or do you not know, brothers – for I speak to those knowing the Torah – that the Torah rules over a man as long as he lives? For the married woman has been bound by Torah to the living husband, but if the husband dies, she is released from the Torah concerning her husband. So then, while her husband lives, she shall be called an adulteress if she becomes another man’s. But if her husband dies, she is free from that part of the Torah, so that she is not an adulteress, having become another man’s. So my brothers, you also were put to death to the Torah through the body of Messiah, for you to become another’s, the One who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to Elohim.” (Romans 7:1-4)
Brothers and sisters, there was only one way to bring back the house of Israel. For according to YHWH’s own Torah, Israel who went and played the harlot both during and after the marriage was not allowed to be reunited back to YHWH. Elohim came in the flesh and paid the ultimate sacrifice, having died, the house of Israel was now free to be remarried to her husband. Our Messiah our Elohim came and took away our transgressions so that we may be found without spot or blemish.
“Husbands, love your wives, as Messiah also did love the assembly and gave Himself for it, in order to set it apart and cleanse it with the washing of water by the Word, in order to present it to Himself a splendid assembly, not having spot or wrinkle or any of this sort, but that it might be set-apart and blameless.” (Ephesians 5:25-27)
Wow… so powerful, the loving husband who gave it all up in order to bring back his adulterous wife. When I found out the meaning behind Yeshua’s sacrifice, I was flabbergasted. I couldn’t and still can’t find the words to describe how it makes me feel besides, wow!
My brothers and sisters in Yeshua, I hope this post brings understanding and clarity to the ultimate sacrifice. I want you to test all things, including this teaching, for I do not want you to become sheep (blindly following). I pray the Holy Spirit guides you into all truths, as you continually seek to know Him.
I wrote a novel for those who guard the commands of Elohim and have the testimony of Yeshua. If you have ever searched for such a fictional novel or book, you may have noticed that there is scant material when compared to other religious fantasy works. I truly feel that YHWH was supplying me the story to tell, and did my best to convey that in written form.
